Living in Europe where outlet malls aren’t really a thing, the first thing I do when visiting South Florida is head to the mall. I travel to the area frequently before or after a cruise and always add on a few days either side to ensure I get plenty of time for retail therapy! Ross Dress for Less is one of my top go-to stores on any visit to the US, I’ve picked up some fabulous designer dresses in Ross stores as well as branded active wear at a fraction of the original price. If you’re down in the Florida Keys, you can enjoy outlet shopping at the Florida Keys Outlet Marketplace in Florida City. While not as extensive as some of the larger malls in South Florida, it’s a convenient stop for those travelling to or from the Florida Keys.
The mall features a selection of stores, including Levi’s, Bass Factory Outlet, and Tommy Hilfiger. It’s a great place to pick up some bargains before heading to the beautiful Florida Keys.

Top Tips for Shopping at Outlet Malls in South Florida
Park Strategically
If you’re taking the car to the mall decide beforehand which section of the mall you’re most likely to shop in. Most outlet malls in South Florida are huge and have numerous entrances so be strategic in parking. Also remember to note exactly where you parked! The last thing you need after an exhausting day of shopping is to have to traipse miles looking for your car.
Budget Carefully
Unless money is no object, set yourself a spending limit. It is easy to go crazy buying all those fabulous bargains and rack up your credit card bill.
Take Time to Try On
Sizes can vary from store to store and unless you are very familiar with a particular brand’s sizing, it is well worth the time and effort to head to the fitting room. Also if you are from outside of the US remember that the sizes are completely different for clothes and shoes from those in Europe. For women a general rule of thumb is the sizes are usually four numbers different, for example a size 6 US is usually a size 10 UK and in Europe that would be a size 36.
